Carl Homer
Carl is an experienced producer, cameraman, audio specialist and editor. He’s worked on productions for the BBC, Channel 4, Sky, etc and has filmed with some big names in the industry.
In 2015 he launched a local TV channel for Cambridge, managing a team who created 11.5 hours of original, local programmes every week. The channel supplied news stories to the local BBC news every day. The local TV channel was sold and became That’s West Anglia TV from 2017 onwards.
As a crew member, his work includes Blue Peter (BBC), Grand Designs (Ch4), Vicky McClure: My Dementia Choir (BBC), Babies (Netflix), The Gunpowder Plotters and Churchill’s First World War (BBC) and Portrait Artist of the Year & Sky Movies specials (Sky).
Bob Coates
Bob is founder and Chief Executive of Cambridge TV Training, Cambridge TV’s partner organisation. He is also a director at Cambridge TV. He has held senior executive positions in the world of education (City & Guilds, Open University) and technology (Acorn).
He has significant experience in education innovation, from putting computers in schools in his early career to online learning platforms at the Open University.
In the media sector, Bob specialises in storytelling, producing and interviewing. His mission is to train people in valuable skills that will help them to work in online video and TV. He believes that learning by doing, in a demanding but supportive environment, is the key to a career in today’s creative industries.
